Transform your Spotify playlist into abstract art.
We highly recommend you, the wonderful user, to put in playlists with more than 25 songs. The more music, the more art, and the better results!
Sliders — leave them alone if you want the algorithm to do all the work for you (recommended)!
Or feel free to mess around with custom properties, which will override the sad algorithm 😢
Remember that you can always press Create again to generate new art!
Who knew algorithms could convey so much emotion? Synesthesify uses Spotify API and JavaScript's canvas to turn your playlists into abstract art. The colours, shapes, and design are generated based on musical analysis of your songs. It considers many factors such as danceability, acousticness, and tempo.
Our handy JavaScript calls Spotify API and gets a list of characteristics for each song.
We then use these attributes to create a list of properties which will be represented by art on your screen.
Tempo → Hue
Speechiness → Abstractness (aka how many shapes)
Acousticness → Texture (aka quality of gradient)
Energy → Shapes (triangles, circles, rectangles, line segments)
Valence (mood) → Brightness
Danceability → Opacity
When you hit create, the algorithm creates a new and exciting piece of playlist art every single time!
If this is your playlist, press Create again to generate your art.
You can pause the background music by scrolling down and pressing pause.
